SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT: INTERNSHIP TRAINING AT KANCARE

Kancare's Social Work Department continued its commitment to nurturing the next generation of social work professionals by hosting interns as part of a structured and meaningful internship training program in June 2026. The internship provided students with valuable hands-on exposure to the field of geriatric social work, allowing them to observe, learn, and actively participate in the day-to-day activities of the department. A key highlight of the program was the direct engagement of interns with residents—an experience that gave them a deeper understanding of the emotional, social, and psychological needs of the elderly.
The program was further enriched by an insightful special session conducted by Dr. Sooraj, whose expertise and knowledge provided interns with a strong academic foundation to complement their practical learning. The session was well-received and proved to be an invaluable addition to their training experience. Through this internship, Kancare continues to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world practice, equipping future social work professionals with the skills, sensitivity, and compassion needed to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the elderly. Such initiatives reaffirm Kancare's commitment to nurturing socially responsible professionals who are prepared to serve vulnerable communities with empathy and dedication.

DAILY ACTS OF LOVE: RESIDENTS SPREADING JOY

At Kancare, it is often the smallest gestures that leave the deepest impressions. As part of our heartwarming "Daily Acts of Love" initiative, residents expressed their appreciation and affection by presenting handmade gifts and tokens of gratitude to staff members—a beautiful reminder that care and kindness flow in both directions within our Kancare family. These genuine, heartfelt interactions have strengthened the bond between residents and caregivers, creating spontaneous moments of joy, warmth, and mutual appreciation that brighten everyday life at our centers. More than just a gesture, this initiative reflects the very soul of Kancare—a place where relationships are nurtured, where every individual is seen and valued, and where the atmosphere feels less like a facility and more like a home filled with love. Through these simple yet profoundly meaningful acts, residents and staff continue to build connections rooted in respect, gratitude, and compassion—day after day, moment after moment. Because at Kancare, love is not just something we talk about. It is something we live. Whether it's a hand-colored drawing, a shared game of carrom, or a simple smile exchanged at the front desk, each moment adds another thread to the fabric of belonging that defines life at Kancare. These small exchanges remind us that dignity and connection matter just as much as clinical care in the journey of healing and aging gracefully.
